Firefighters proceeded in the offensive mode, coordinating roof and interior operations to fight fire located in one unit. DOT requested for traffic, LAPD (INC#2273) for crowd control, LADWP and gas company for utility management, and LADBS for structural safety assessment. Knockdown of active flames declared in 22 minutes, with no injuries reported. Confined Space Rescue - Now Complete; INC#0946; 02:49PM; 1172 S Boyle Av; https://bit.ly/41HBjOC; Boyle Heights; Based on the patient's location in an underground space, Incident Command upgraded this rescue to a confined space operation, necessitating the employment of LAFD HazMat specialists for air monitoring and an LAFD USAR component for the technical hoist rescue. LADWP ensured all power lines in the underground space were de-energized prior to rescue operations commencing, and LADOT closed streets to traffic in the immediate area. The patient (30M) was extricated without further injury and is being transported by LAFD paramedics to a local hospital.
