There was heavy fire in all five bays and firefighters are making good progress in the defensive mode. No additional resources are anticipated to be required. Chemical Investigation 09/12/2024 INC#0654

Chemical Investigation; INC#0654; 10:58AM; 23750 W Califa St; https://bit.ly/3B44OzK; Woodland Hills; Initial reports of a "safe" in a chemistry class room which has not been opened in years, containing unknown substances that appear to have been jostled during the earthquake and a staff member was concerned. The first engine on scene used a gas meter and did not detect any hazards. There are no patients with any medical complaints. There are no reported injuries (humans) but firefighters located three dogs and are providing medical support (conditions unknown). Earthquake Mode ; INC#0313; 07:31AM; https://bit.ly/3wjsDl6; A preliminary magnitude 5.1 earthquake occurred at 7:28 AM PDT, centered 7 kilometers north of Malibu, California, 29 miles west of downtown Los Angeles. Pursuant to protocol, the LAFD is now in earthquake mode, as personnel from all 106 neighborhood fire stations conduct a strategic survey by land, air and sea of their districts, examining critical infrastructure and areas of local concern across our 470 square mile City of Los Angeles jurisdiction. Once this process is complete and reports are consolidated, assuming there is no significant damage, LAFD Earthquake Mode will be complete. This process typically takes less than one hour. There are currently no initial reports of structural damage or injuries. An update will be provided once LAFD Earthquake Mode is complete. Though no additional earthquake activity is predicted, firefighters ask you to prepare for any aftershock. If inside when shaking starts: Drop, Cover, Hold On! Protect your head and neck while taking cover under sturdy furniture or near a sturdy interior wall, away from windows and doorways until the shaking stops.
