Multi-Patient Injury; INC#0804; 01:17PM; 900 W 7th St; https://bit.ly/33xRsHO; Downtown; PRELIM: Loud sound (firework?) earlier heard by patrons/employees at or near the Metro Center subway station, several minutes prior to their calling 9-1-1. Unclear if sound was heard on a subway train or at subterranean station. No fire. No smoke. No physical evidence of any 'explosion' damage on LAFD arrival. Three civilian adults (unknown affiliation) are currently being evaluated for minor unspecified injury, including auditory discomfort. They are currently indicating a desire to be released at scene. Those five patients have all been taken by LAFD ambulance to area hospitals, their medical status upon hospital arrival is unknown. 1 other person is deceased and remains at scene. Firefighter-paramedics located the driver in a remote area away from the vehicle. The elderly male patient is unable to make it up the steep grade to road level. Firefighters located contents burning in a bathroom. Firefighters arrived in time to extinguish the flames prior to structural involvement. It took 26 firefighters just 14 minutes from the time of alarm to declare a "knockdown" of the fire (10:46 AM). No reported injuries.
