Update Truck Fire 07/06/2024 INC#1586

Update Truck Fire; INC#1586; 10:00PM; NB 405 Fwy south of Ventura Blvd; https://maps.app.goo.gl/vDUagKcN4Ukjnw6D7; #ShermanOaks; The fire has been fully extinguished, and was confined to the tractor (cab) only of the big rig, which included *tandem* (two) trailers containing 7,600 gallons of diesel motor fuel. The trailers are intact and upright, were not involved with fire and are not leaking product. A minimal leak of diesel motor fuel at the scene is attributed to partial leakage of the tractor's *one* 'saddle' tank used to propel the truck. No injuries have been reported. #LATraffic: ALL lanes of the northbound and southbound 405 Freeway remain closed between Burbank Boulevard and Skirball Center Dr until LAFD and CHP operations are complete, and the site has been rendered safe for travel. Update Truck Fire; INC#1586; 09:40PM; NB 405 Fwy south of Ventura Blvd; https://bit.ly/4eQ9MPX; #ShermanOaks; There are no reports of a collision, rather initial statements the truck *may* have been ablaze while moving. It is now stopped in traffic lanes, with the tractor (cab) having been fully involved with fire, threatening what is currently described as a single trailer containing 7,600 gallons of diesel fuel. The *trailer* is not currently involved with fire and does not appear to be leaking product. A minimal leak of diesel motor fuel at the scene is attributed to the tractor's 'saddle' tanks used to propel the truck, and the tractor (cab) fire is now nearly extinguished. No injury reported. #LATraffic: Closure of all lanes of northbound and southbound 405 Freeway between Burbank Boulevard and Skirball Center Dr until LAFD and CHP operations are complete and the site has been rendered safe for travel.
