There are currently (possible to change once all persons on scene are assessed) four patients: Firefighters completed an extrication and patient #1 is being transported to the hospital in unknown condition. Patients #2 and #3 have minor, non-life threatening injuries. Patient #4 determined deceased on scene. Ages/genders of patients are unknown at this time. All SB 101FY lanes are closed and will impact morning commute for an unknown duration due to CHP fatality investigation. Technical Rescue - HORSE; INC#1060; 05:07PM; 14525 Olive View Dr; https://bit.ly/42um7lS; Sylmar; Firefighters located the trapped horse (rider is not injured and it is unknown right now whether the horse is injured). Reported to be 'on its side, stuck in a narrow wedge'. Crews are getting shovels to attempt to dig out while LAFD Air Ops readies a back up plan. This is a dynamic situation with a number of options being assessed to determine the best approach. The LA Animal Services 'Specialized Mobile Animal Rescue Team (SMART) has been notified for assistance. The home appears to be vacant and sustained significant damage with the attic fully involved in fire. One male firefighter sustained a non-life threatening injury and was unable to descend the ladder from the roof. A litter basket operation was conducted to bring him down and he was transported to the hospital.
