KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0111; 03:18AM; 1001 E 27th St; https://bit.ly/3yqbQNJ; #HistoricSouthCentral; Firefighters arrived to find a vacant church building (site of a previous burn) fully involved with fire. Crews developed hose lines from the exterior, in defensive mode, due to the uncertain structural stability of the dilapidated building, which sustained partial collapses at times during the fire fight. Ultimately, it took 66 firefighters 38 minutes to complete extinguishment of the intense flames. No reported injuries. No entrapment. *Eight patients* total. 2 declined hospital transport. Six patients were taken to area hospitals by LAFD Paramedics: Two adults in serious condition, 4 children (ages 6-12) with minor injuries. Though seatbelts were used, some of the children were improperly restrained (No car seats in use, at least two children sharing one seat belt). There is NO emergency and no need for public action. Again, this is a one day only training involving public safety aircraft and ground personnel that will conclude by 2:00 PM. No injuries reported. Fire cause under active investigation.
