Update Greater Alarm Structure Fire 11/12/2020 INC#0583

Update Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0583; 01:40PM; 10801 W Venice Bl; https://bit.ly/3lrShJx; Palms; 91 LAFD firefighters continue to battle this greater alarm two-story commercial structure fire after almost an hour and a half. After an initial interior (offensive) attack, crews retreated to an exterior position (defensive attack) due to concerns about structural integrity. The roof later collapsed, making it difficult to reach all areas. At least five ladder pipes were flowing concurrently during the height of the fire. The majority of the flames have been knocked down, but there are still inaccessible pockets of fire. Bystanders report that all occupants got out of the vacant building (former dental offices). HAZMAT teams have determine there are no hazards from potential leftover medical equipment. Urban Search and Rescue crews are assessing the structural integrity and developing a plan for extinguishing the rest of the smoldering sections safely. Crews will remain on scene for an extended period of time to dewater the basement level and complete a thorough search.; FS 43; Batt 18; South Bureau; Council District 5; AR2 BC11 BC18 BC4 BC9 CE83 CM22 CM32 E205 E226 E237 E26 E261 E263 E27 E292 E295 E43 E58 E62 E63 EA1 EM9 HR3 HU59 RA5 RA862 RA92 SQ95 T26 T37 T5 T61 T63 T92 T95 UR5 UR88; CH7; 12 13; Nicholas Prange

Update Aircraft Down; INC#0621; 01:10PM; 10654 N Sutter Av; https://bit.ly/38Byy6B; Pacoima; Firefighters extinguished the flames engulfing at least two vehicles and the wreckage after a small aircraft went down in a residential area. The fire spread to trees and vegetation in front of a residential home, but firefighters navigated downed power lines and protected the home from sustaining any structural fire damage. Sadly, the sole occupant of the aircraft was deceased. No other bystander injuries reported. The circumstances surrounding the events leading up to the crash are under investigation (LAPD, FAA, and NTSB were notified). Our partners at DWP assisted with shutting down power to the area due to the electrical hazard from downed power lines. ; FS 98; Batt 12; Valley Bureau; Council District 7; BC14 BC15 CM41 CM742 E275 E298 E75 E77 E88 E98 EM12 JT1 PH1 PI1 RA7 RA898 RA98 SQ21 SQ87 T75 T98; CH8; 14; Nicholas Prange
