KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1609; 08:54PM; 225 W 25th St; https://bit.ly/3qXmkOw; Historic South-Central; KNOCKDOWN: 29 firefighters extinguished the fire in 20 minutes with no injuries reported. The fire was contained to the unit of origin and prevented from extending into the adjacent units. The smoke is currently being cleared from the building. Cause and $ loss TBD. Update Structure Fire 01/24/2022 INC#0411

Update Structure Fire; INC#0411; 09:32AM; 255 S Grand Av; https://bit.ly/3IDEECt; Downtown; Firefighters responded to reports of patients on both the 16th and 19th floor, made contact and determined no medical aid was needed. Occupants remain sheltered in place. There were workers on the roof of the building and firefighters ascended the interior stairwell to the roof to locate them and escort them safely down/out of the building (elevators can not be used at this time). The building engineer and LAFD Fire Prevention Bureau Inspector are on scene to operate the building's smoke removal system to clear the remaining smoke out of the structure. One patient was transported (as reported in earlier alert) with burn injuries. No other occupants have required medical aid or transport. Additional calls are coming from occupants in various units within the building and the LAFD Metropolitan Fire Communications (MFC) 9-1-1 center is providing that information to the Incident Commander who is deploying a fire company to investigate each one. It is unknown at this time if any of the elevator occupants are requiring medical assistance. Firefighters are investigating reports of one patient on a balcony (approximately 16th floor). One patient (age/gender unknown), from inside the restaurant under renovation, was transported with burn injuries (extent and condition unknown). All airborne firefighting units were canceled. Update Structure Fire; INC#0411; 08:47AM; 255 S Grand Av; https://bit.ly/3IDEECt; Downtown; Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire located in the ground floor restaurant undergoing renovation. The fire was contained to the restaurant (unconfirmed initial reports of possible explosion in the kitchen) but the smoke has traveled (to varying degrees) up through the building. Firefighters are in the process of locating/recalling all elevators in the building (27 floors) and assisting anyone who may be stuck (number of possible patients is unknown at this time). Preliminary reports of one possible burn patient from the restaurant (condition unknown). While this is at a Major Emergency status, the fire is extinguished and the incident is in the search and rescue phase. Media staging is at 333 Grand Ave (Wells Fargo Building).
