No structures were damaged. We want to extend our gratitude to Beverly Hills FD and LA County FD for their mutual aid responses in assisting with the suppression efforts. Crews will remain on scene to fortify containment lines and "mop up" (eliminate hot spots and smoldering debris within the burn perimeter). KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1598; 10:07PM; 1624 S San Pedro St; https://bit.ly/3zWCdIr; Downtown; This **7-story** concrete building was the site of a previous burn. Firefighters ascended the interior stairwells to locate a contents fire on the 7th floor. Firefighters quickly developed "above-ground" hose lines up to the top floor to extinguish the flames in less than 30 minutes, and then ventilated the structure to facilitate smoke removal. CONTAINED - Brush Fire; INC#1466; 07:56PM; 6400 N Balboa Bl; https://bit.ly/3ryCvQZ; #LakeBalboa; First arriving 50 ground-based LAFD firefighters, assisted by LAFD helicopter water drops, took just 52 minutes to access, confine and fully contain flames within a 200' x 75' area of grass and heavy brush at the west end of the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area near Lake Balboa. No injury. No infra/structure damage. No evacuation. Firefighters will remain at scene this evening to handle hotspots and complete extinguishment.
