KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0244; 06:52AM; 1418 N New Hampshire Av; https://bit.ly/48YNDfr; East Hollywood; KNOCKDOWN: This incident is now classified as a Major Emergency structure fire. Firefighters faced a heavily boarded up entry into and up to the involved area which caused a delay in reaching the seat of the fire. Once crews reached the two involved units in the corner of the building, they were able to conduct an effective fire attack and extinguished the fire with one hour on the incident clock. There are no injuries reported. LAFD PIO Captain Adam VanGerpen is enroute for media availability. LAFD Arson is responding for the investigation per protocol for an incident of this size. LAFD remained in command of the incident and it will be an extensive overhaul operation with LAFD heavy equipment responding to assist. LAFD resources will remain in the area into the evening and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes. Cause is not yet determined. Update Structure Fire; INC#0935; 03:06PM; 442 W Rosecrans Av; https://bit.ly/3MbunRY; Harbor Gateway; The structure has a complete roof collapse and that roof is the primary fuel burning as the building appears to be empty. The ember cast from the fire appears to have ignited a 50' trailer several buildings down from the fire. The trailer was fully involved and exposing another large commercial building. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated to confirm there was no extension into the structure. The jurisdiction of this fire (whether within County or City boundaries) is being determined and LAFD remains as Incident Command at this time. There are LACoFD and Compton Fire Dept resources on scene as well. No injuries reported. This incident is at the Greater Alarm status.
