Firefighters successfully protected the 4 story apartment building immediately behind the fire structure. The intersection of Fountain and Vermont will be closed through the morning. Many resources being released while those remaining on scene continue to address hot spots. Due to safety concerns, hand lines are not being taken inside the structure. Crews will be rotated throughout the evening to continue operations. Smoke will likely be seen from the structure for several more hours. No injuries reported. Update Structure Fire Address Updated 03/12/2017

Update Address Updated Structure Fire; 08:10PM; 815 S Central Av; internal:/; #DTLA Firefighters continue to make progress against the fire remaining in the attic. Master streams being shut down temporarily to reassess condition of fire and possible re-positioning to hand lines at building entrances. Large, bulky stored goods created large fire load. Appears large quantity of red chili peppers also in structure, creating an additional irritant within the smoke. Fire contained primarily to the South and East end of the L shaped building.
