KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0264; 07:24AM; 630 S San Pedro St; https://bit.ly/3LGZL93; Downtown; KNOCKDOWN: Over 100 firefighters extinguished the fire in 43mins. Firefighters made quick progress against fire encountered on the first floor, however the blaze had already extended from the 2nd into the attic. Truck companies on the roof conducted vertical ventilation, getting heavy fire from the holes and venting some of the heat while fire attack made their way up to conduct direct attack on the attic fire. Their coordinated efforts alleviated the need to go to a defensive mode and prevented the total loss of the structure. Preliminary information is this was an outside fire which extended in. However, protocol for a Major Emergency fire calls for LAFD Arson investigators to conduct a cause investigation and they are enroute to do so. No injuries reported. Update Structure Fire; INC#0264; 07:09AM; 630 S San Pedro St; https://bit.ly/3LGZL93; Downtown; This incident is now at the Major Emergency status with over 100 firefighters assigned. Firefighters made access and were able to make good progress against fire on the first floor however the fire extended up into the 2nd floor to the attic. There is now heavy fire in the attic. Access to that area is proving challenging. One additional task force requested. No injuries reported. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire 02/17/2022 INC#0853

KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0853; 01:44PM; 13640 N Norris Av; https://bit.ly/3JDtGwW; Sylmar; A one-story 1,615 sq-ft home built in 1971 caught fire, which appeared to have started in a nearby carport, spreading to the adjacent home and nearby ornamental vegetation, encouraged by windy conditions. Firefighters ensured all occupants escaped and received a medical assessment. Thankfully, no injuries or medical complaints were found. It took the first 38 firefighters 33 minutes to extinguish all flames in the home, carport, vegetation, and autos involved. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0032; 12:50AM; 7816 S Flight Av; https://bit.ly/3Bt2VZh; Westchester; Firefighters found smoke coming from attic vents upon arrival. Crews forced entry and developed hose lines on the ground, as others made their way to the roof. A coordinated attack by 30 firefighters extinguished the flames in one room (with some extension into the wall and attic) in 17 minutes. No reported injuries.
