Update Structure Fire 03/04/2022 INC#0412

Update Structure Fire; INC#0412; 09:45AM; 4800 W Beverly Bl; https://bit.ly/3hBTr4W; #WindsorSquare; LAFD Firefighters rescued one dog and one cat from the smoke charged and burning upstairs apartment, as their colleagues aggressively battled flames that heavily damaged the kitchen and extended into the living room of the one damaged unit. Firefighters prevented the fire from extending into any of the other nine apartment units in the 7,456 square-foot building, which was not equipped with optional fire sprinklers. The presence of required functional smoke alarms within the involved unit was not immediately apparent. Both pets received a cursory medical examination by LAFD responders, and appeared to have no serious injury, before being safely returned to the care of their owner. There were no human injuries. The fire cause is considered accidental, and related to cooking. Though the involved apartment will be untenable until repairs are made, the five residents of the unit stated a desire to seek their own temporary accommodations.; FS 52; Batt 5; West Bureau; Council District 4; BC5 E227 E229 E29 E52 RA61 RA827 T27 T29; CH7; 13; Brian Humphrey
