#GermainFire - Knockdown - Brush Fire; INC#1009; 06:00PM; 22200 W Germain St; https://bit.ly/3lxLXC9; #Chatsworth; The well coordinated effort of 64 LAFD ground and airborne Firefighters, earlier joined by LACoFD and VCFD resources, have fully contained and controlled the "Germain Fire" wildfire in and near Chatsworth Park to two (2.0) acres of vegetation in rocky and remote terrain. No injury. No structure damage. LAFD Firefighters will remain at the scene tonight in a patrol status to monitor and extinguish hotspots and further establish a bare soil perimeter. Update Forward Progress Stopped - #GermainFire - Brush Fire; INC#1009; 02:16PM; 22200 W Germain St; https://bit.ly/3lxLXC9; #Chatsworth; The well coordinated response of LAFD, LACoFD and VCFD firefighters (all three agencies with both ground and air units assigned) has stopped forward progress of the "Germain Fire" at an estimated two (2.0) acres of vegetation in rocky terrain near the three agencies common border in and near Chatsworth Park. No injury. No structure damage. No evacuation. Firefighters are continuing to fully extinguish stubborn hotspots and create a bare earth perimeter to the fire. To protect both firefighters and the traveling public, railroad tracks in the Santa Susana Pass (Metrolink Ventura County Line / also used by Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and Union Pacific Railroad) will remain closed to all freight and passenger train traffic between Chatsworth and Simi Valley until further notice. Update #GermainFire Brush Fire; INC#1009; 02:50PM; 22200 W Germain St; https://bit.ly/3lxLXC9; #Chatsworth; The 64 LAFD ground and airborne Firefighters assigned are now joined by LACoFD (ground and air) and VCFD (ground) responders in actively battling stubborn flames at what is known as the "Germain Fire", involving vegetation in rocky terrain (no acreage update), at what is considered a Mutual Threat Zone near the three agencies common border in/near Chatsworth Park. No imminent structure threat. No formal evacuation. As a precaution, railroad tracks in the Santa Susana Pass (Metrolink Ventura County Line / also used by Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and Union Pacific Railroad) are being closed to all freight and passenger train traffic between Chatsworth and Simi Valley until the fire is controlled. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0680; 11:43AM; 2113 E 102nd St; https://bit.ly/3ySdia0; Watts; The first 28 firefighters extinguished fire in one two-story unit in 14 minutes, containing the flames to the unit of origin. Firefighters performed a primary and secondary search of the building and, thankfully, found no patients. The fire unit contained a functional smoke alarm, alerting occupants to the danger in adequate time to evacuate. No reported injuries. Physical Rescue; INC#1386; 07:40PM; 13055 W Victory Bl; https://bit.ly/3NskHRd; Valley Glen; One male patient (approximately 45 years old) sustained injury after an approximately 30-foot fall into the wash off of a bridge. LAFD firefighters and paramedics set up a rope system with a rescue basket and retrieved the patient from the wash below. The patient was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire - Fatality; INC#1214; 06:33PM; 6600 W Lexington Av; https://bit.ly/3G64Jdk; #Hollywood; It took 78 firefighters 51 minutes to extinguish flames inside of a portion of a two-story concrete industrial building. Two patients reported respiratory symptoms related to smoke exposure. Both patients were evaluated on scene and declined transport to the hospital. Sadly, one person was found dead inside, as firefighters searched the structure. No firefighter injuries. Cause under investigation.
