Hand crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Angeles National Forest are assigned to assist with further containment, felling of dangerous tree limbs and cold trailing of the fire's perimeter. One civilian pickup truck parked at the Porter Ranch Drive park-and-ride lot adjacent to the 118 Freeway, was destroyed by fire. No injury. No structure damage. No evacuation. Update Forward Progress Stopped - #PorterFire Major Emergency Brush Fire; INC#1088; 04:30PM; 11200 Porter Ranch Dr; https://bit.ly/3FRlIQu; #Chatsworth; Despite wind-driven flames, 140 LAFD Firefighters responding by land and air have stopped forward progress of the fire in one hour at an estimated seven (7) acres. The fire remains south of the Ronald Reagan (SR118) Freeway, with some small spotting at the perimeter. The firefight continues, with a containment factor yet to be determined. No injury. No structure damage. No evacuation. Firefighters safely evacuated an undetermined number of persons from, and prevent fire damage to, an adjacent two-story residential motel ( Villa Las Palmas? ). No Injury. No resident displacement is currently anticipated.
