LAFD's helicopter crew lowered a paramedic down to the patient, while ground crews made access to the remote location with vehicles capable of navigating Griffith Park's narrow trails. Sadly, the trapped patient was determined deceased on scene by firefighters. The condition of the vehicle's driver is unknown at this time. A portion of the first 32 LAFD firefighters engaged in extinguishing the exterior fire, while the remainder of the crew made entry into the occupancy. While inside the structure, a small amount of smoke and fire was located adjacent to the exterior burn and was successfully extinguished in 17 minutes. No injuries to civilians or fire department members. Cause under investigation.
