Update River Rescue; INC#0282; 10:00AM; 2658 E Washington Bl; https://bit.ly/3dQ8TIR; Downtown; Now a total of 3 vehicles have been swept down the LA River toward the Washington Bridge. The second vehicle has become "stacked" atop the first submerged vehicle (water level has risen). A third vehicle was carried past the bridge at Washington Blvd and proceeded into LA County FD jurisdiction. So far, no victims (if there are any) have been located or identified. River Rescue 12/14/2021 INC#0451

River Rescue; INC#0451; 07:50AM; 12933 N Dronfield Av; https://bit.ly/3IRurTw; Sylmar; Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call from someone who was in a drainage channel/wash near Sylmar High School. The 26-year-old male victim was swept into a covered channel of the LA River, but was able to maintain his cellphone call to communicate with dispatchers. An engine on the street above continued to honk, as firefighters removed maintenance hole covers in the street. The victim reported by phone when he could hear the honk nearby, and firefighters effected the rescue through that maintenance hole. River Rescue; INC#0282; 05:39AM; 2658 E Washington Bl; https://bit.ly/3dQ8TIR; Downtown; An auto rollover was reported at 5:39am. Crews arrived on scene and received additional information that led them to upgrade the incident to a river rescue at approximately 6:10am. LAFD air and ground crews surveyed up and down the LA River, finding no victims. At approximately 7:30am, a single vehicle was located, stationary against a column or abutment, with fast-moving water rising rapidly. Crews are preparing for a vehicle recovery, once conditions provide an opportunity. The identity/location/condition of the driver remains unknown. No victim located. Knockdown - #LaurelFire Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#1085; 04:21PM; 6261 N Laurel Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/3m1G0hq; North Hollywood; Address Corrected from Sylvan Street. It took 100 LAFD Firefighters just 44 minutes of well-coordinated offensive operations to access, confine and fully extinguish flames within a one-story 250' x 100' vacant row of commercial buildings, the site of a previous fire (date, time and circumstances still to be determined). Though persons believed to be transients were seen leaving the building on LAFD arrival, none reported anyone injured or remaining in the building. A comprehensive search of the still smoldering premises continues. No persons discovered within or injuries thus far reported. LAFD Public Information Officer Captain Erik Scott is at scene to assist the media. Update Pedestrian Fatality; INC#1461; 08:30PM; Metro B (Red) Line Station - 6250 W Hollywood Bl; https://bit.ly/3rNHRKl; Hollywood; Apparent male (unknown age / affiliation / circumstances) was apparently struck by and has been discovered lifeless beneath the mid-section of an unknown direction Metro B (Red) Line subway train now stopped at the Hollywood/Vine Station platform. LAFD responders are working with Metro Los Angeles to assist the uninjured passengers and train operator in safely exiting the train, before they assist the Coroner's staff with the discreet and dignified removal of the decedent, who remains beneath but is not physically trapped by the train.
