Fatality Traffic Collision 02/24/2023 INC#1230

Fatality Traffic Collision; INC#1230; 03:10PM; 6340 W La Tuna Canyon Rd; https://bit.ly/3IPuAce; #Tujunga; PRELIM: Solo vehicle with three adult male occupants (unknown affiliation) partially into a largely dry (only 6" storm water) narrow (4' wide) flood control channel. One of the men sustained fatal injury when he was ejected into the narrow channel, and remains at scene. Two two other men self-evacuated the vehicle prior to LAFD arrival, and later accepted ambulance transport to a regional hospital for examination of non-life threatening injuries. LAFD's Heavy Rescue unit removed the vehicle from above the flood control channel. No other injuries reported. All occupants from the structure safely escaped. Ultimately, it took 20 firefighters 16 minutes to extinguish the flames, without injury.
