Fire (cause remains under investigation) originated in a den area inside the 1,380 square-foot home, and extended into the adjacent attached garage, and vegetation/debris to the exterior. 2 adult residents have been taken to an area hospital in fair condition for medical complaints following their exposure to smoke. The two are included in the tally of 7 persons (5 adults and 2 children ) who will be displaced by the fire. Their need for placement assistance has yet to be determined. Update Knockdown Civilian Fatality Structure Fire; INC#0315; 04:12AM; 5159 N Vincent Av; https://bit.ly/34R2f0P; Eagle Rock; 39 LAFD Firefighters took just 21 minutes to extinguish heavy fire in the rear of a 1,282 square-foot one-story home (built 1924). During fire attack, an elder female was rescued by LAFD personnel, to join her husband, who had earlier escaped. Both are being evaluated by LAFD Paramedics at scene for minor injury, As the last of flames were extinguished, one person - described as an adult female in her 50's (yet to be determined affiliation) - was found deceased within the residence. No other injuries were reported. Fire cause is under active investigation. Firefighters performed an interior fire attack with coordinated vertical ventilation to extinguish the fire in just 11 minutes. No reported injuries. No other buildings nearby sustained fire damage.
