A total of 32 firefighters performed a coordinated attack, between interior fire attack and rooftop ventilation, to extinguish the flames in 23 minutes. Structure Fire; INC#0536; 10:16AM; 1442 N Formosa Av; https://bit.ly/3pu6cU5; Hollywood; The first arriving fire companies quickly extinguished fire in one unit on the first floor of a two story, 8-plex apartment building with fire in one unit on the first floor. Firefighters contained it to the unit of origin, preventing any extensive to above or adjacent units. Despite initial reports of someone in the unit, both the primary and secondary search found no occupants. There are no injuries reported. Cause and $ loss TBD. Hiker Rescue; INC#1343; 05:48PM; End of Wonder View Drive; https://bit.ly/3yMlaHT; Hollywood Hills; LAFD Ground and Air response to a pair of lost young adult female hikers discovered and now being aided by LAFD ground crews approximately 50' off a utility road in a wilderness area east of the the Tree of Life trail, about three-quarters (0.75) of a mile northeast of the end of Wonder View Drive. Only one is injured (condition undetermined), complaining of head, neck and back pain and an inability to walk. She is to be hoisted into a hovering LAFD rescue helicopter for continued in-flight care during direct transport to a regional trauma center. Update Pedestrian Fatality; INC#1461; 08:30PM; Metro B (Red) Line Station - 6250 W Hollywood Bl; https://bit.ly/3rNHRKl; Hollywood; Apparent male (unknown age / affiliation / circumstances) was apparently struck by and has been discovered lifeless beneath the mid-section of an unknown direction Metro B (Red) Line subway train now stopped at the Hollywood/Vine Station platform. LAFD responders are working with Metro Los Angeles to assist the uninjured passengers and train operator in safely exiting the train, before they assist the Coroner's staff with the discreet and dignified removal of the decedent, who remains beneath but is not physically trapped by the train. There are two patients being transported: 1 in critical condition and one with minor, non-life threatening injuries (was on the train). Age/gender unknown at this time.
