ADVISORY; 09:30AM; LAFD Community Training in Hollywood Hills to *Simulate* Emergency Evacuation; https://www.lafd.org/news/lafd-community-training-hollywood-hills-simulate-emergency-evacuation; Hollywood Hills; To enhance community safety, the Los Angeles Fire Department will be performing a public training exercise in the Hollywood Hills this morning, November 16, 2019. The training event will simulate a coordinated evacuation of three specific neighborhoods - similar to what might happen if there was a real wildfire or other emergency in the future. This community exercise will also test neighborhood notifications, including a special awareness text message sent to all wireless phones in the immediate area at approximately 10:00 AM. Though some beyond the target area may receive an awareness message, this simulated and voluntary evacuation training exercise includes only select streets in the following City of Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Districts: Los Feliz Neighborhood Council, Hollywood United Neighborhood Council and Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council. The training event will be followed by a free Community Resource Fair to which all are welcome, at the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, 1760 North Gower Street, that begins at 11:30 AM. Update Brush Fire #BarhamFire; INC#0845; 04:45PM; 3694 N Barham Bl; http://bit.ly/32yNGv0; Hollywood Hills; The fire is now at 95% containment around the 80-acre area of torched earth. The remaining 5% around the perimeter is inaccessible due to treacherous terrain, but the burn area has undergone extensive mop up and crews will pick up equipment this afternoon, and only a patrol unit will remain on fire watch throughout the night. The final lane closures will be removed as fire department equipment and apparatus depart and Forest Lawn Dr can be used going both directions, once again. We thank the community for heeding the road closures and driving safe while in the vicinity of emergency personnel. The cause of the fire remains under active investigation.
