Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0878; 03:49PM; 1514 N Labaig Av; https://bit.ly/3gsdRei; Hollywood; A Greater Alarm assignment totaling 49 firefighters battled flames in a vacant (and boarded up) two-story duplex, well-involved with fire on the first and second floors. Firefighters engaged in a transitional attack (upward through the windows from the exterior to cut through the intense heat inside), before entering into an offensive mode to finish off the remaining fire inside in 36 minutes with a coordinated interior fire attack with vertical ventilation. There are no reported injuries. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0958; 06:00PM; 5538 W Romaine St; https://bit.ly/2CrR43q; Hollywood; A 1,466 sq-ft one-story multi-family residence was fully-involved with fire upon LAFD arrival. It took 30 firefighters just 10 minutes to put out the fire, starting with a defensive strategy (from the exterior), and knocking back the flames enough to enter and extinguish the remainder. This was the site of a previous burn. Firefighters skillfully protected all adjacent structures. No reported injuries. It took 55 firefighters 40 minutes (12:28 AM) to extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. Structure Fire 06/14/2020 INC#0174

Structure Fire; INC#0174; 03:43AM; 1316 N Fairfax Av; https://bit.ly/37tiKjE; Hollywood; 44 LAFD firefighters responded to a two-story garden-style apartment with fire in one second-story unit. Initial entry was delayed by furniture blocking the doorway (appeared to be intentional barricade). One adult male (late 60s) appeared to have jumped from a second story window and was beyond medical help prior to LAFD arrival, due to traumatic injuries. No other occupants inside the fire unit (and no transport from the scene). No other patients. LAFD Arson Investigators and LAPD are on scene investigating the cause of the fire and the circumstances of the man's death. Knockdown of the flames was declared after 21 minutes (4:04 AM). Nothing further. Update Knockdown Brush Fire; INC#0271; 08:32AM; 2301 Highland Ave; https://bit.ly/3dQEIzu; Hollywood Hills; 129 assigned LAFD personnel, including 3 helicopters, assisted by LACoFD hand crews, took 2 hours and 13 minutes to fully extinguish the blaze, which consumed Two-and-One-Half (2.5) acres of grass and brush just northeast of the Hollywood Bowl. No injury. No structure damage. No evacuation. Update Brush Fire; INC#0271; 07:28AM; 2301 Highland Ave; https://bit.ly/3dQEIzu; Hollywood Hills; One hour and nine minutes into the blaze, 129 assigned LAFD personnel, including 3 helicopters, have stopped forward progress of the fire, still estimated at three acres, just northeast of the Hollywood Bowl. Ground crews - including three LACoFD hand crews, will remain at the scene this morning to extinguish minimal flame on the flanks of the fire and overhaul smoldering vegetation to assure complete extinguishment. No injury. No structure threat or damage. No evacuation.
