Sadly, she was beyond medical help and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. LAFD Arson Section is attached for the investigation per protocol for a fire fatality. Firefighters located a fire in one unit and extinguished it. They conducted a search and located one patient. The patient has been rescued out of the unit and is being treated by paramedics in unknown condition. Firefighters are working to clear the residual smoke from the building. LAFD Air Ops provided water drops which knocked down the bulk of the flames while firefighters gained access and established hand lines. Crews will continue to conduct mop up operations to ensure no hot spots remain. No injuries reported.
