While the units assigned reached a Major Emergency status (100 FFs), it was handled prior to the arrival of the additional resources. There are no injuries reported. Crews on scene will use blowers to ventilate the building and most resources will be released. Those five patients have all been taken by LAFD ambulance to area hospitals, their medical status upon hospital arrival is unknown. 1 other person is deceased and remains at scene. Hiker Rescue 05/03/2021 INC#1317

Hiker Rescue; INC#1317; 07:06PM; 1900 N Runyon Canyon Rd; https://bit.ly/2PKZnOK; Hollywood Hills West; LAFD crews located three uninjured hikers (age/gender=18M, 11M, 8F) and their dog in a remote area of Runyon Canyon, who were unable to make it up a steep slope. Firefighters have set up a low angle rope rescue with assistance from pulleys providing a mechanical advantage to assist these hikers up the slope safely. LAFD Air Ops is standing by with their Nightsun® (high-intensity searchlight) to assist with visibility as the evening light fades. Update Structure Fire; INC#1297; 07:23PM; 1249 N Mansfield Av; https://bit.ly/3t3jczf; Hollywood; KNOCKDOWN: 31 firefighters extinguished the fire in 18 minutes. The fire was contained to the unit of origin and prevented from extending to adjacent units. The sole occupant of the unit was outside the structure on LAFD arrival and is being transported with probable smoke inhalation and minor burns. One additional patient is being evaluated and likely to decline transport (the person was helping to rescue animals out of the unit). There are no other injuries reported. Cause and $ loss TBD. While the fire did not extended beyond the limited area, the water flow is impacting the floors below.
