Knockdown - Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#1663; 08:24PM; 10924 S Broadway St; https://bit.ly/3L3wc2o; #BroadwayManchester; The first arriving 45 Los Angeles Firefighters took just 21 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish fire in two units (one upstairs and one downstairs) of the 5,700 square foot, 18 unit, two-story U-shaped garden-style "Economy Motel". LAFD Firefighters assisted in the evacuation and medical care of four civilians (undetermined affiliation). Three (36F, 15F, 13F) sustained smoke inhalation and one (36M) has smoke inhalation and burns to his extremities. All have been taken by LAFD Paramedic ambulances to an area hospital in fair condition. No other injuries have been reported. LAFD Public Information Officer Firefighter David Ortiz is en route - ETA 9:00 PM. Fire and pressurized smoke were confirmed in the attic space above a unit doing business as a nail spa. Companies remain on-scene for overhaul and salvage operations. Firefighters on the ground are performing a second land-based rope rescue to recover the deceased individual (adult female).
