One male patient, the only occupant of the structure (partially converted to living space), is being transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation injuries. 34 firefighters extinguished all flames in 12 minutes, found no further patients, and prevented extension to any surrounding structures. Physical Rescue; INC#1509; 06:18PM; 630 E Century Bl; https://bit.ly/4bzUXOq; #GreenMeadows; Firefighters responded to a 3-vehicle traffic collision resulting in a total of 10 injured patients (6 adults and 4 juveniles). Firefighters extricated one of the drivers, who was trapped. All others escaped the vehicles on their own. The adult female driver who was trapped was transported in serious condition. Five other adults were transported in fair condition. Three juveniles were transported in moderate condition. Sadly, the remaining juvenile was a 12-year-old female who died at the scene of the crash (total of 9 transported & 1 deceased). LAPD Inc #4251. Structure Fire - Knockdown; INC#0175; 01:21AM; 175 E 49th St; https://bit.ly/45Qtmr2; #SouthPark; Firefighters responded to a one-story single-family home with fire showing. Crews coordinated interior fire attack efforts with rooftop ventilation to extinguish the flames in 45 minutes (2:06am). The cause of the fire was attributed to a medical equipment malfunction. No reported injuries. The structure is unsafe to reoccupy and Building and Safety will be responding with a Red Tag. The family was issued a SAVE card on scene to help them during this time. Update KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#1207; 05:12PM; 1042 W 62nd St; https://bit.ly/3XMfTig; #Vermont-Slauson; 76 firefighters were able to extinguish this tricky fire in 41 minutes. Flames from a power pole initially extended into an outside storage building, before also extending to a nearby house. Crews maintained an offensive posture against the flames, aggressively fighting fire and prioritizing the search for any victims. No injuries were reported.
