Update Vegetation Fire; 01:21PM; 3761 S La Brea Av; internal:/; Crenshaw District / Baldwin Hills; KNOCKDOWN 90 LAFD firefighters (plus unk number from LA County) Precise aerial water drops and aggressive ground attack combined with good brush clearance by residents aided in the defensive of homes. No structures damaged. Some resources being released but traffic on La Brea will continue to be affected while crews remain in place for mop up of all hot spots. No injuries reported. Update Vegetation Fire; 01:14PM; 3761 S La Brea Av; internal:/; Crenshaw District / Baldwin Hills; Fire being contained at 2 acres in medium to heavy brush. Bulk of the fire is knocked down and have full containment (hand lines in place 100% around the fire). LA County Fire camp crews also on scene cutting line. La Brea CLOSED from Coliseum to Stocker for undetermined period of time. No structures damaged, no injuries reported. Update Vegetation Fire; 12:37PM; 3761 S La Brea Av; internal:/; Crenshaw District / Baldwin Hills; Over 90 LAFD firefighters on scene with additional assistance from LA County Fire. Good progress made with aerial water drops and ground based attack. Firefighters are both attacking the fire and defending homes. Proper brush clearance created 'defensible space' has allowed firefighters to prevent any damage to homes thus far. PIO enroute to Command Post located at LA Brea Gilliam Park.
