Following their aggressive initial attack on the flames, heavy fire and deteriorating structural conditions within the vacant 70' x 40' one-story building, forced a well-coordinated transition to defensive operations, which continued outside the structure for nearly one-half hour, before an 8 minute interior fire attack ensued. The successful effort prevented injury and precluded flames from extending to any other structure. Firefighters will remain at the scene for several hours to comb through debris and assist the active investigation into the cause of the greater alarm fire.
