After knocking back the flames from the exterior, firefighters transitioned to an offensive attack, entering the structure to find the remaining pockets of fire. No reported injuries. Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0141; 03:17AM; 111 E 84th Pl; https://bit.ly/3kaaNGd; Florence; A one-story home under construction was fully-involved with fire, exposing one other home, one duplex, a one-story motel, and a commercial building to heat and flames. The first 62 firefighters swiftly and skillfully extinguished the flames in 33 minutes (3:50 AM), averting a much greater disaster. Only one of the nearby structures sustained minor exterior-only fire damage (duplex). The other buildings were spared. There were no reported injuries. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1390; 10:11PM; 7010 S Denver Av; https://bit.ly/339Wzz0; Vermont-Slauson; The first 22 LAFD firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in one unit on the 5th floor (of "Progressive Home For the Elderly") in 18 minutes, while assisting residents with sheltering in place to avoid the smokey environment in the hallway. Firefighters are putting blowers in place to horizontally ventilate the 5th and 6th floors to clear the smoke. No reported injuries.
