Update Structure Fire - Central-Alameda Fatality ; INC#0180; 09:53AM; 1441 E 55th St; https://bit.ly/37Fpiw9; Central-Alameda; Sadly, the 40 year old male whom firefighters pulled out of the burning home, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 2nd patient, 18 year old male, was transported with critical but non-life threatening burn injuries. The remaining two occupants were not injured. Knockdown Structure Fire; INC#0180; 04:50AM; 1441 E 55th St; https://bit.ly/37Fpiw9; Central-Alameda; 51 firefighters took 24 minutes to extinguish flames in a one-story home (with two room rear addition), that had heavy fire to the rear. Firefighters were met with a report of two males trapped inside the then burning home, and rescued both the teen and adult, who are currently en route to area hospitals. One is in grave condition, the other is in undetermined condition. No other injuries reported. Fire cause is under active investigation. Public Information Officer Capt. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1495; 08:17PM; 530 E 62nd St; https://bit.ly/3lANKE5; Florence; 36 firefighters responded swiftly to extinguish two palm trees that were casting embers on two nearby one-story commercial buildings (constructed in 1924 and 1941). The fire did penetrate inside both structures, but due to the efforts of firefighters and automatic fire sprinklers, the damage was not widespread. Ultimately 36 firefighters eliminated all fire in 21 minutes. No reported injuries.
