Structure Fire - With Injuries; INC#0977; 02:50PM; 4220 S Western Av; https://bit.ly/3iOlHBw; Vermont Square; KNOCKDOWN: With 100 firefighters assigned to the Greater Alarm incident, the bulk of the fire was extinguished in 34 minutes. With the collapse of the roof and a wall, firefighters have better access to small pockets of fire and will continue to overhaul the building. Two patients have been transported for critical burn injuries, one M and one F both in their 30's (estimated) and an additional patient declined LAFD transport. Firefighters prevented the fire from extending to the exposed building under construction. LAFD Arson is responding for the investigation. Firefighters extinguished the fire and are transporting one male and female patient in their early 20's with serious injuries.
