KNOCKDOWN Boat Fire; INC#0999; 03:05PM; 1500 E Anchorage Rd; https://bit.ly/3bY3dvh; San Pedro; LAFD responded by land and sea to find two power vessels, approximately 30 feet long, engulfed in flames. Thirty-two firefighters extinguished the flames in 30 minutes. No reports of individuals previously living on these vessels. No reported injuries. Upon arrival, firefighters located a patient in grave condition following an electrocution OUTSIDE of the vault - therefore it is not a confined space incident. The patient is being treated/transported by firefighter/paramedics. It is unknown at this time if this is an employee (whether private or city) or the circumstances surrounding the incident. After making forcible entry, they located small content fires in three different units. They fully extinguished the fire in 20 minutes with no injuries reported. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1041; 02:58PM; 837 W 70th St; https://bit.ly/315xuGl; Vermont-Slauson; Firefighters grouped and covered belongings in the living space below the attic where fire was blazing to keep from damaging items with water and smoke. Firefighters then opened up the attic to access the area of fire involvement, using as little water as possible to extinguish the flames. It took 24 firefighters 11 minutes to extinguish the fire. At the time of fire ignition, a roofing operation was underway by construction workers above. The official cause is still under investigation.
