KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0680; 11:43AM; 2113 E 102nd St; https://bit.ly/3ySdia0; Watts; The first 28 firefighters extinguished fire in one two-story unit in 14 minutes, containing the flames to the unit of origin. Firefighters performed a primary and secondary search of the building and, thankfully, found no patients. The fire unit contained a functional smoke alarm, alerting occupants to the danger in adequate time to evacuate. No reported injuries. With 81 LAFD personnel assigned, the firefight will continue hand tools and hose lines against stubborn residual flames, that at this hour have thankfully caused no injury, no need for evacuation or structure damage. Firefighters prevented the fire from extending into the attic. The fire was contained primarily to the unit of origin with two additional units sustaining minor extension inside (from the fire on the exterior) and one with damage only to the exterior. Red Cross requested to assist displaced (number unknown) residents. LAFD Arson is enroute for the investigation.
