Firefighters positioned themselves around the exterior of the structure with hose lines to douse the flames, including positions on the roofs of two residential structures for protection. Firefighters contained the flames to the building of origin (and some ornamental vegetation immediately outside). No reported injuries. The first arriving fire company reported finding a two story apartment building with heavy smoke showing from one side. An offensive fire attack ensued and crews held the fire to one unit. Smoke infiltrated adjacent units but no fire damage. One occupant of the involved unit was evaluated for possible smoke inhalation and declined hospital transport.
