The 29 LAFD firefighters achieved knockdown of the flames in just 30 minutes despite excessive storage within the unit. No reported firefighter or civilian injuries. The rupture (or relief valve activation?) was accompanied by loud sounds, and the apparent leak of an unspecified amount/type liquid, the flow of which has been controlled in coordination with workers in the area reportedly performing pipeline related maintenance. No fire. No injury. No evacuation. Though a rail tanker car was parked in the area, it does not appear to have been involved. The firefighters quickly extinguished the outside fire and conducted interior fire attack against the small area of extension (contents only in one room). The fire sprinklers activated and crews are working to shut them down for sprinkler head replacement. There are no injuries reported. The 9-1-1 call was received at 7:39PM. Knockdown - Structure Fire; INC#0502; 09:38AM; 243 E 59th Pl; https://bit.ly/3UGuW93; #Florence; *Address Corrected* DETAILS: 39 Firefighters took just 19 minutes to access, confine and completely extinguish a fully involved 766 square-foot one story home at the rear of the property, preventing fire spread to nearby structures. One male civilian (unknown age / medical condition / site affiliation) was found outside the home with significant burn injury, and is being transported to an area hospital by LAFD Paramedics. No other injuries reported.
