Structure Fire; INC#0875; 06:20PM; 5014 S Avalon Bl; https://bit.ly/3LVDDJp; South Park; At 3:16pm LAFD arrived to find a 10' x 15' outbuilding and a few pallets of hand sanitizer with fire showing. Within a few minutes, firefighters extinguished the fire in the outbuilding. Hand sanitizer burns clean (with no smoke or danger of exposure) and it is safer to allow the materials to burn in a controlled manner. The incident commander arranged for sand (to contain any possible runoff) and Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) to be delivered on scene. AFFF is a fire suppressant used to extinguish flammable liquid fires. There are no structures threatened, no injuries reported and no threat to the area. It will be an extended duration operation with no pre-determined end time.
