Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1390; 10:11PM; 7010 S Denver Av; https://bit.ly/339Wzz0; Vermont-Slauson; The first 22 LAFD firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in one unit on the 5th floor (of "Progressive Home For the Elderly") in 18 minutes, while assisting residents with sheltering in place to avoid the smokey environment in the hallway. Firefighters are putting blowers in place to horizontally ventilate the 5th and 6th floors to clear the smoke. No reported injuries. LAFD Hazmat experts were dispatched as a precaution. No specific or off-site hazard identified. No incident related illness or injury has been reported. There is no anticipated need for evacuation or street closure.
