Update #PorterFire - Greater Alarm Structure Fire; 03:15PM; 2474 E Porter St; internal:/; 89 LAFD Firefighters have taken less than two hours to control all active flame, but will remain at scene into the early morning to assure complete extinguishment of large quantities of densely baled paper at the ~ 14,000 sq foot recycling facility; No firefighters have been injured, and 50 workers at "Angelus Western Paper Fibers, Inc." were able to escape the fire unharmed; LAFD heavy equipment (tracked bulldozer/loader) en route and a forklift will be used to to assist with an extended overhaul of the ordinary combustible paper; At present, a light on-shore breeze is making smoke odor noticeable in the adjacent Boyle Heights neighborhood; The fire cause and monetary loss, which included collateral fire damage to one or more additional buildings on the premises, is still to be determined; Dispatched LAFD Units: E17 RA17 E9 T9 E209 RA809 E202 T2 BC1 BC11 E25 CM22 EM1 BC5 E10 T10 E210 E4 CM21 E21 E3 T3 E203 T11 T27 E227 RA209 BC9 PI2 EA1 HE1 TP1 TP3 LD1 LD2 SU1; - Brian Humphrey
