Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1246; 05:17PM; 5460 N White Oak Av; http://bit.ly/2OaGhfL; Encino; 71 firefighters extinguished a fire in a 4-story apartment building (3 residential floors over 1 parking) in 68 minutes. Initially, firefighters found lazy smoke and traced it to a microwave in a unit, which was out upon arrival. Members outside observed no change in smoke coming from the rear of the building. Further investigation revealed fire in the attic above multiple units. Additional units were added and companies began making access through the ceiling to access the fire. In the process of extinguishing the fire, multiple units were damaged by flames and smoke, causing tenants and their pets to become displaced. Unknown number of units/residents/animals to be displaced. Red Cross is responding to assist these families during this time. No civilian or firefighter injuries.
