Update Rubbish Fire; INC#0429; 08:14AM; Wb Santa Monica Fy; https://bit.ly/3LeU0Pj; Downtown; With pallets stacked all the way from the ground to the freeway, there is a significant amount of fuel to burn. Firefighters made access to both sides of the freeway to use large diameter handlines/appliances. The amount of smoke created is causing a zero-visibility environment as firefighters continue to work their way in and make progress. The 10FWY remains closed and drivers are advised to plan alternate routes. There are now 83 firefighters assigned to this incident. The freeway itself is the primary exposure with some commercial buildings threatened but not currently exposed.
