FF Fraser is available for interviews regarding his role in safely resolving this evening's jumper incident. At this evening's Jumper incident, a brand new 'still on probation' LAFD firefighter made all the difference in saving a patient's life. Probationary Firefighter Kenneth Fraser was off-duty, on his way home from putting in extra study time for an upcoming drill at his fire station when as he pulled off the freeway, he noticed the patient on freeway overpass bridge threatening to jump. Without hesitation, FF Fraser stopped his vehicle and went to speak to the patient. As the 911 calls were made to notify authorities, FF Fraser calmly spoke with the patient and established a rapport. Once LAPD officers arrived, they saw the positive progress FF Fraser was making and continued to allow him to handle the negotiations. Meanwhile, two air rescue cushions were being put in place by his fellow firefighters, all the while they did not know one of their own was making such a difference. FF Fraser successfully connected with the patient and was able to convince him to choose life and was safely brought into LAPD custody for evaluation. FF Fraser has less than 4 mos on the job yet did not hesitate to help when help was needed and reflects the dedication and passion for service of your LAFD.; FS 35; Batt 5; West Bureau; Council District 4; Margaret Stewart
