Knockdown - Structure Fire; INC#1084; 03:31PM; 10615 S Avalon Bl; https://bit.ly/3S13SRk; #GreenMeadows; *Address Corrected from 107th Street*. The already well established fire was first noticed as a smoke plume and reported as a fire prior to any 9-1-1 call, by LAFD firefighters who arrived quickly after clearing another emergency in the neighborhood. It took the first 30 arriving LAFD personnel just 13 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish flames in the downstairs portion of a two-story residential fourplex. During their well-coordinated attack on the flames, firefighters discovered and rescued six pet dogs from the smoke charged unit of fire origin. While five of the animals were successfully resuscitated and/or medically stabilized with basic medical care and the use of oxygen, one of the pets was sadly beyond help and perished at the scene. No human injuries were reported. Five persons (4 adults & 1 child / undetermined affiliation) have been displaced by the fire, and will be assisted by the American Red Cross.
