KNOCKDOWN Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#0144; 04:43AM; 1585 E Vernon St; https://bit.ly/3RjsBBg; #CentralAlameda #VernonFire; *Corrected Address* Over 140 LAFD Firefighters responded, with assistance from neighboring LA County FD crews, and extinguished the fire in 1 hour and 18 minutes. Firefighters found a multi-family residential building in the framing stages of construction at the center of the blaze. Crews went to work, getting water on the fire, defending neighboring homes, and evacuating residents in the surrounding area, as they navigated wires down from fire-damaged utility poles. The total number of people who were temporarily displaced is still yet-to-be tallied, but families will be able to get back to their homes later this morning. A small number of neighboring structures sustained partial mostly-exterior damage. A further report will be available at LAFD.org/news later today. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
