Complete - River Rescue; INC#0256; 03:31AM; L.A. River x Glendale Bl; https://bit.ly/2WPwT6n; Atwater Village; The well coordinated effort of 75 LAFD air and ground responders, including an LAFD Swift Water Rescue team, took 65 minutes to safely rescue by tethered inflatable rescue boat, 1 man and 1 woman (in their 40's?) who were discovered by a passersby during a rainstorm, to be stranded by stormwater flowing 3'-4' deep at 5-8 mph, and standing uninjured upon a small island mid- L.A. River just south of Glendale Blvd. A location at or near which they apparently lived. The LAFD Swift Water Rescue team and LAFD helicopters have methodically searched the immediate area to confirm no other persons or pets are in peril.
