Update [Information Notification Only] Rubbish Fire; INC#0307; 06:37AM; 390 N Silver Lake Bl; https://bit.ly/4341boa; Silver Lake; LAFD is assisting Cal Trans with the extinguishment of a smoldering fire under the eastbound 101 freeway on Silverlake Bl. An arson investigation is being done with Cal Fire having the jurisdiction on the investigation. West bound lanes of Silverlake Bl are closed at this time. Both on and off ramps to the 101 freeway are open. At this time the 101 freeway is open and unaffected. Firefighters held the blaze to the unit of origin. Cause of fire is undetermined. Due to the terrain, a hoist operation was utilized to capture the patient. The patient was transported to LAFD ground operations for further assessment. Fire companies are now in the "mop up" phase and will remain on scene to cool all hotspots and establish a full perimeter of bare earth around the burned area. Total area estimated at 1/4 acre with no structures affected and no injuries reported.
