SAN PEDRO-

The men and women of the Los Angeles Fire Department have been deeply saddened by the death of active duty Captain I William R. James.

Captain James began his LAFD career on October 23, 2000. He was assigned to Fire Station 85, "C" Platoon, in Harbor City at the time of his at-home passing on December 11, 2021.

He is survived by his wife, daughter and son.

A public funeral mass for Captain James, to which all are welcome, will be held:

December 29, 2021 at 9:00 AM

Following the funeral, Captain James will be laid to rest at:

Green Hills Memorial Park
27501 South Western Avenue
Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275

All are warmly welcomed thereafter to attend a public reception at:

Brouwerij West
110 East 22nd Street
San Pedro, CA 90731  

In lieu of flowers, Captain James' family kindly asks that a donation be made in his honor to the non-profit Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighters Fund.
