RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of the Emergency Services Bureau includes:
- Assisting the Fire Chief as a regular member of his general staff, making recommendations on general policies, practices and procedures.
- Providing functional and line supervision for Bureau personnel and management of their support equipment and facilities.
- Conducting research, submitting completed staff studies and preparing reports for distribution to Bureau personnel.
- Acting as liaison to the City’s Emergency Operations Organization and serving as principal member of the Emergency Management Committee.
- Coordinating and reviewing the work of various Bureau Committees and project work groups.
- Responding to major emergencies and participating as an on-call member of an Incident Management Team.
