Firefighters were offensive mode utilizing fire attack handlines to extinguish fire in the non-converted garage. Fire companies are checking exposure for fire extension. Rapid firefighting tactics allowed 34 firefighters to get a knockdown in 21 minutes preventing horizontal and vertical spread of fire. Update Jumper 04/07/2024 INC#1135

Update Jumper; INC#1135; 05:22PM; 454 N Mission Rd; https://bit.ly/3xvF3qk; Boyle Heights; Firefighters are on scene working with LAPD to assist with a man on a pillar approximately 20' above ground level. During the process to do a technical rescue and get rescue air cushion in place patient fell to ground below. Patient is being transported to Regional trauma center in unknown medical condition via Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedic Rescue. No fire personnel injuries. LAFD Resources will remain on scene for extensive equipment cleanup. Unknown duration. Metrorail has shutdown tracks eastside of LA river. Railroad Police have shutdown tracks on westside of LA river. Both Tracks will open up for normal traffic when all LAFD personnel are clear. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0857; 02:13PM; 6081 W Cashio St; https://bit.ly/3JeroGo; #Mid-City; Initial arriving firefighters found several trees on fire exposing a Two-story duplex structure. Firefighters quickly extinguished the trees. Firefighters worked in offensive mode utilizing fire attack hose lines with vertical ventilation to keeping the fire from spreading vertically or horizontally in the four different exposed two-story structures. 36 firefighters took 52 minutes to extinguish flames in all exposed structures. LAFD resources will remain on scene for a unknown duration performing salvage and overhaul. LADWP notified for down power lines. No reported injuries. Firefighters utilized fire attack hose lines with vertical ventilation to quickly extinguished the flames and keeping the fire from spreading vertically or horizontally. It took 36 firefighters 16 minutes to extinguish the flames and achieve a knockdown. LAFD resources will remain on scene to insure complete extinguishment. LACO Health department notified. The cause and origin is currently under investigation. Information Only Trapped Vehicle; INC#0301; 05:47AM; Nb 5 Fy; https://bit.ly/3U6Vq5c; Griffith Park; Solo vehicle with two persons trapped in the vehicle, one of whom (undetermined age/gender) was deceased. The other patient (undetermined age/gender) was disentangled from the wreckage by firefighters, and has been taken to a regional trauma center in critical condition. No other injuries. The vehicle was found by CHP on right shoulder with Heavy Damage. No fire. #LATraffic: Possible closure of one or more lanes of northbound 5 freeway near 134 interchange until CHP and Medical Examiner operations are complete. Unknown ETO. Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route. Detours are readily available. Monitor traffic reports on news radio.
