Update Structure Fire; INC#0031; 01:09AM; 1745 E 14th St; https://bit.ly/3udjCbS; Downtown; Firefighters have multiple ladder pipe operations underway and large diameter hand lines however, due to the quantity of pallets creating a massive fire load, are not yet making progress. There is a 2nd pallet yard (from Lawrence to Elwood) under the freeway and the fire extended to this 2nd pallet yard. There are additional structures exposed. Two more task forces requested, raising this to a Major Emergency structure fire. Update FINAL Chemical Spill; INC#0709; 03:56PM; 1168 La Live Wy; https://bit.ly/3QBQH8U; Downtown; LAFD Hazardous Materials Squad classified the product as non-hazardous and surveyed all areas, deeming them safe to occupy. LA County Hazardous Materials is on scene and while they finalize the exact product(s) involved, they stated people in the area may continue to notice the smell due to the quantity spilled however it is not hazardous and poses no public safety concern. One adult female patient was transported for a medical compliant unrelated to the incident and all other patients were released on scene. While the product in the drum is believed to a cleaning solution, the exact identification is still being investigated. Chemical Spill; INC#0709; 01:32PM; 1168 La Live Wy; https://bit.ly/3QBQH8U; Downtown; A 55 gallon drum had been moved into a parking structure for cleaning when an employee complained of general sickness from fumes emanating from unknown contents (possible chemicals). The units on scene requested LAFD HazMat squad and they are preparing to make entry in an attempt to identify the product in question. The adult male patient was treated on scene and declined ambulance transport. There are no other patients. The HVAC units near the drum are shut down and there are no evacuations required. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0372; 08:28AM; 6322 S Crenshaw Bl; https://bit.ly/3Qwnpbz; Hyde Park; KNOCKDOWN: The first alarm response of 30 firefighters (prior to arrival of additionally requested resources) extinguished the fire in 19 minutes with no injuries reported. Firefighters conducted a primary and secondary search with no occupants located. No other structures were damaged. Vehicle Fire; INC#1755; 09:08PM; 3821 W Jefferson Bl; https://bit.ly/40tVCgF; #WestAdams; Firefighters responded to find flames consuming an RV. Fire crews quickly extinguished the flames. Paramedics treated three burn patients and transported them to a local hospital in serious condition (approximately 31-year-old female, 27-year-old male, and a 2-year-old male). LAPD Inc #4616.
