Crews used hydraulic rescue tools to roll back the wreckage and make access the patients. Sadly, one was found to be deceased. The other two were transported to the hospital via LAFD ambulance (approx 20-year-old male in serious-to-critical condition, and approx 5-year-old male in moderate condition). LAPD Inc #5012. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0422; 08:33AM; 650 W 111th St; https://bit.ly/43XQO52; #VermontVista; Firefighters responded to a one-story home with smoke showing. They made access through the front door and found two people inside, as flames grew in one room to the rear of the structure. Firefighters rescued both adult occupants from the structure, who thankfully sustained only minor smoke inhalation before being pulled out. It took 33 firefighters 13 minutes to extinguish the flames, limiting the fire damage to just one room and part of the hallway. LAFD ambulances transported both patients to a nearby hospital. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1268; 04:17PM; 7510 N Craner Av; https://bit.ly/3xFR6RF; #SunValley; Firefighters responded to a structure fire in a one-story home in Sun Valley. Crews quickly extended hose lines into the structure and battled flames to the rear of the building. There were 30 firefighters on scene who extinguished the flames in 13 minutes. During the course of the firefighting operations, one person was found deceased inside the home. Firefighters are performing an extensive search of the burned home to check for additional occupants.
